Dimpleplasty is performed as an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia, which means that you will not feel any pain or discomfort. The surgeon places a biopsy instrument against the inner cheek (buccal mucosa) and makes a circular incision in the cheek muscles to remove tissue and create the dimple look, leaving the facial skin intact. The procedure takes around 1 hour, after which you will be able to go home once the effect of anesthesia wears off. You may feel some swelling and bruising after the procedure, but that will resolve within few days. The sutures used to close the incision will dissolve within 14 days after surgery, and once the healing process is complete, the check muscle will connect with the skin and create natural-looking dimples.
