Considering a facelift to achieve a more youthful appearance?

Face Lift might be the answer!

A facelift is a cosmetic surgery that can help you:

  • Reduce sagging skin: Target loose skin on your cheeks and jawline for a smoother, tighter look.
  • Improve facial contours: The procedure can redefine your jawline and create a more sculpted appearance.

What to know about facelifts:

  • Addresses sagging, not wrinkles: While a facelift can tighten loose skin, it won’t eliminate fine lines or wrinkles caused by sun damage. Other procedures might be better suited for those concerns.
  • Combined procedures: A facelift can be performed alongside a neck lift to address sagging skin in the neck area for a more comprehensive rejuvenation.
  • Consultation is key: Discuss your goals and expectations with a board-certified plastic surgeon to determine if a facelift is right for you.

Here are some additional things to consider:

  • Recovery: Facelifts require downtime for healing. Be prepared to take some time off work and follow your surgeon’s recovery instructions carefully.
  • Results: You’ll see improvement after surgery, but full results may take several weeks as swelling subsides.

A facelift can be a powerful tool for facial rejuvenation, but it’s important to have realistic expectations and consult with a qualified professional.

Frequently Asked Questions

As mentioned, early treatment can have a more lasting effect, but there’s no right or wrong age for a facelift once wrinkles start appearing. (Those changes typically appear in your 40s or 50s.) The average age of people who come in for the procedure is typically late 50s to early 60s. But people also can be in their 40s or well into their 80s.

Surgery requires recovery time — and a facelift IS a surgery. Expect it to take 10 to 14 days for bruising and swelling from a basic facelift to go away. More extensive procedures could take longer.

It’s important to understand that there are potential risks with a facelift. Serious bruising (hematoma) is the most common complication following a facelift. In rare cases when the swelling is extreme, a second (and immediate) surgery may be needed to relieve pressure. Infection, scarring or nerve injuries are also possible but extremely rare.

After a tummy tuck, you’ll need to limit your activities. If you’re exceptionally physically active, you’ll have to postpone strenuous exercise for four to six weeks. Your provider will advise you on this as you go through the healing process. On average, you’ll need at least one week off work after the surgery. Again, your provider will help you determine this.
