Considering a body lift to address loose skin and improve your body contours?

Body Lift might be the answer!

A body lift, also known as circumferential lipectomy, is a cosmetic surgery procedure that can help:

  • Remove excess skin and fat: This procedure targets loose skin and stubborn fat deposits around your torso, buttocks, and thighs.
  • Improve body shape: By removing excess tissue, a body lift can create a smoother, more toned appearance.

Who might consider a body lift?

This procedure is often sought after by people who have:

  • Loose skin: Significant weight loss, pregnancy, or aging can leave behind loose, inelastic skin.
  • Uneven contours: A body lift can address sagging skin and uneven contours in your torso, buttocks, and thighs.

What to expect during a body lift:

  • Consultation: Discuss your goals and expectations with a board-certified plastic surgeon to see if a body lift is right for you.
  • The surgery: A body lift is an extensive procedure that combines techniques from other surgeries like tummy tuck, liposuction, and thigh lift. It typically takes 3-7 hours under general anesthesia.
  • Recovery: Recovery takes about 2-3 weeks. You might have drains inserted for a few days and will need to wear compression garments for several weeks.

Results and considerations:

  • Visible improvements: You’ll see results immediately after surgery, and they will continue to improve as swelling subsides.
  • Multi-stage procedure: In some cases, a body lift may be performed in two stages, focusing on the front and back of your torso at separate times.

Remember: A body lift is a major surgery. Consulting with a qualified professional to understand the risks and recovery process is crucial.

Frequently Asked Questions

You have considerable skin excess on different body parts, like abdomen, chest, back, thighs or arms? This tissue excess does not respond to diet or workout? In this case you are a good candidate for a lifting procedure. This surgery is the only way to remove this excess tissue in a satisfying and long lasting way.

The best candidates for the body lift are in good physical condition with significant loose, inelastic skin on much of the body. The body lift is often sought by individuals following childbirth or massive weight loss, such as with bariatric surgery.

In essence, the body lift combines the techniques of abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), liposuction, the thigh lift and the buttock lift. It may be performed as two separate procedures several months apart. In total, surgical times may take three to seven hours under general anesthesia. During surgery, excess skin may be removed from the abdomen, buttocks and thighs, and excess fat may be removed with liposuction techniques.

As an inpatient procedure, the hospital stay is typically two to three days. Patients are ambulated form the first postoperative day onwards. Back home you can walk and go to the bathroom by yourself but should not engage in any other activity other than just recovering. Healing time until suture removal takes 2 weeks. You can go back to your normal daily routine within 3 to 4 weeks.

The scars will be placed as inconspicuously as possible in the abdomen and back area, as well as groin area in the case of a thigh lift. This will be discussed with you during your consultation.

Post-operative complications from body lifting surgery are possible and may include bleeding, infection, seromas, and poor healing. This will be discussed with you during your consultation at our clinic.
